04-10-2008

After the great success of the official presentation of the project and the brand, that took place in Genoa last July, on 26th of September, in connection with the "Monaco Boat Show" Mediterranean Yacht Services has given the worldwide preview of its first super yacht, in front of before several guests, as well as national and international press.

In the refined ambiance of the Hotel De Paris it was finally possible to admire the Tankoa S65 Model, a commercial displacement twin engine yacht in dual class (RINA/Lloyd's), with Atlantic autonomy, high tensile steel hull and light weight alloy superstructures, a prestigious result of a well balanced mix of technology and design.

The uniqueness of the hull designed by Prof. Vincenzo Ruggiero has been enhanced by Francesco Paszkowski's exterior lines, giving place to one of the most significant examples of creativity in the yachting sector.

Two very important announcements, turned what already was a very pleasant night into a wonderful one.

The first one about the input of from David Chipperfield: the well known English architect, with studios in London, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai (in the list of his numerous creations the "Gotoh Museum" of Chiba, the "Design Center" of Tokyo and the reconstruction of the destroyed Neues Museum in Berlin) will be the interior designer of the Tankoa S65-11.

The second one about the agreement with Giugiaro architecture, to design the interior of the second Tankoa S65-12 mega yacht: this prestigious collaboration has all the prerogatives to increase the fame of the 'Made in Italy' shipbuilding tradition, raised to international level by a company that represents the most advanced degree of application and development of project solutions, design and style in the world. Amongst the various projects accomplished by Giugiaro there are: the University of Turin, the "Mall in Italy" in Syracuse NEW YORK and the redevelopment of a historic building in the centre of Moscow into 7 star luxury apartments, entirely Made in Italy.

Maximum secrecy is kept regarding the buyer of the first Tankoa S65, the hull of which is currently under construction in Carrara, and the in September 2009 it will be shipped to the Genova Sestri Ponente yard, using the new semi-submersible barge belonging to the Shipyard, where all the subsequent outfitting work will be carried out under cover, in the newly renovated assembly hall.

But this is not the end of our news: the Shipyard technical department is already developing projects for 50 to 75m yachts, in order to target also that market segment.
