At the Milan branch of "David Chipperfield Architects", Professor David Chipperfield and his Staff (headed by Arch. Zampieri) have presented the preview of new Tankoa S65/11 General Arrangement Plan, based on their personal interpretation of the ship Owner's demands and needs, as well as on the technical requirements, under the joint supervision of the Shipyard Technical Department and the Staff of Prof. V. Ruggiero, the designer.
The event was attended by the Owner, whose identity is still secret, and Tankoa Yachts S.p.A. shareholders and technical representatives.
The project is the result of a different approach to "the design of the various decks, ensuring a certain degree of flexibility while maintaining an overall consistency". The sun-deck design shares a 360° relationship with the exterior style, while the upper-deck is currently being planned to successfully blend with the outside fore and aft surroundings and , finally, the main deck is seen as an interaction between the right and the left side of the ship.
As for the interior decor, the Chipperfield Studio project proposal has suggested using different shades of white and all kind of shapes, materials and solutions linked to the marine environment; it's expected the use of corian, lacquered wood, leather and fabric, together with the installation of three different types of lighting for: transversal, vertical and longitudinal light angles depending on various settings. Finally, the coverings belong to the same conceptual continuum between floorings, bulkheads and ceilings, so to remind of the ring formed by the ship frame and beams.
