After the successful official presentation of its project and brand (held in Genoa last July), on 26th September Mediterranean Yacht Services presented its first super yacht during the "Monaco Boat Show".
In the fascinating setting of Hotel de Paris, the guests had the chance to see the new Tankoa S65 Model; a commercial motor yacht with dual class (RINA/Lloyd's), a twin propellers with transatlantic sailing autonomy, high tensile steel hull and aluminium alloy superstructure: the prestigious result of a carefully combined mix of technology and design.
The first 65m by the Genoese scorpion expresses the its designer's creativity through in the excellent use play of lines and volumes, perceivable in every single detail: Prof. Vincenzo Ruggiero's unique hull is enhanced by Francesco Paszkowski's design, giving rise to one of the most expressive examples of the 'Made in Italy' in the yachting environment.
Top secret is kept on the identity of first buyer of the Tankoa S65, the hull of which is currently under construction in Carrara, and in September 2009 it will be shipped to the Genova Sestri Ponente yard, using the new semi-submersible barge belonging to the Shipyard, where all the subsequent outfitting work will be carried out under cover, in the newly renovated assembly hall.
But this is not the end of our news: the steel hull of a second 65m, Tankoa S65-12, is currently under construction at the Bianchi Family's "General Montaggi Genovesi" company in Genoa port, and the Shipyard technical department is already developing projects for 50 to 75m yachts in order to address also that market segment.
